- Text-to-speech with Apple voices, speech recognition, sentence history, favorites.
- Board editor, Fitzgerald Key color coding, grammar modifiers, PDF export.
- On-device AI sentence support on iPhone 15 Pro and later via Apple Intelligence.
Online is optional: cloud voices, board sync, AI symbol generation, and the AAC professional web panel use the internet — with explicit consent — and the app falls back gracefully when offline.
Why offline-first matters in AAC

Do I need an account to use AbilityMic?
No account is needed for core offline communication. An account enables optional sync and the web panel.
Do symbols need to be downloaded first?
No. The built-in symbols ship inside the app and work immediately, offline.
What happens to AI features offline?
On supported iPhones, sentence support runs on-device. Cloud AI features simply pause and communication continues normally.
