AAC communication

Communication starts with the person

AAC means augmentative and alternative communication. It helps people express thoughts and feelings through the means available to them, including gestures, symbols, text and synthetic speech.

Symbols, letters, reading and writing

In AbilityMic you can communicate with symbols and with letters — writing words, sentences and your own messages. The two can be combined, drawing on reading and writing skills and developing them in everyday communication.

AbilityMic is one of the tools that can become part of a person’s own way of communicating. Adapting it starts with choosing vocabulary and board layout. We give weight to the person’s motor abilities and to the role of hearing and vision in full, multimodal communication.

Room for what you want to say

Conversation includes requests and refusals, questions and answers, memories, comments, feelings, humour and ideas of your own. We grow boards so that the person can take part in different situations and create their own messages.
