For speech-language pathologists

Prepare boards from your office. Deliver them before the session.

AbilityMic gives SLPs a web panel to build and update client boards remotely, see which vocabulary is actually used, and standardize workflows across a caseload — while the client's own device keeps working offline.

A workflow that respects your time

  • Web panel (abilitymic.com/app): build boards from any browser, sync to the client's device after sign-in.
  • Descriptive usage view: see which words and boards are used to plan vocabulary — explicitly not a clinical assessment or outcome measure.
  • Photo-to-board (beta): photograph an existing paper board and convert it into an editable digital board (OBF export). Still being refined, so check the result before a session.
  • OBF/OBL import & export — your existing board files carry over.
  • Fitzgerald Key coloring, grammar modifiers, print-ready PDF export with lamination cut lines.
  • AAC professional PIN protects settings on the client's device.
  • Access granted by the client: they issue a one-time invite code and choose separately whether you get boards, usage statistics or both. Either side can end the link.
  • Phone and tablet layouts of the same board, so one prepared board fits the device the client actually carries.
  • Interface in 16 languages when the family's home language is not the language of your clinic; symbol boards ship in English, Polish and Spanish.

Working with families and facilities

Parents and caregivers see the same boards you prepare, and can add family vocabulary between sessions. For clinics, schools, and care facilities we offer multi-seat licensing with centralized rollout and onboarding support. We are also recruiting SLPs for our pilot program — free full licenses in exchange for honest feedback.

FAQ

Common questions.

Is client data private?

Online features require explicit consent, sensitive data is encrypted, and usage statistics are descriptive only. The app is designed privacy-first with GDPR in mind; contact us for documentation.

How do I get access to a client's account?

The client generates an 8-character invite code in their app, valid for 15 minutes and usable once, and picks whether you get board management, aggregated usage statistics or both. On a child profile the app asks a parent or authorised guardian to confirm consent before the code is issued. Either side can revoke it later.

Can I use my existing board files?

Yes — AbilityMic imports and exports OBF/OBL, so boards from other tools can be reused.

Do you offer professional or organization licenses?

Yes — we offer professional pilot licences and organisation-wide licensing. Email support@abilitymic.com.

Try AbilityMic

Core communication works offline. AI, smart home control, and the AAC professional web panel are there when you need them. Not a medical device; it does not replace assessment or therapy by a qualified professional.
